This book is from one of the collaborators of The Truth Project. It is a quick review of the similar topics of a Biblical Worldview. Do Fish Know They're Wet Can lead to some good discussions- the facilitator just needs to make sure the discussion stays on track by referencing what the Bible says. The book has these references, but it is easy to get into the "woe is the world/culture" mentality. Recognizing the culture we are in and combat it with a Biblical Worldview.

Cooking for others Service Project

 

After our current study we are going too all cook some meals together, kids n'all. We wanted something that the kids could participate in too. We are all getting together one night and making multiple meals together, then each family in the group will deliver the meal to someone in need (as a family).

We will discuss as a group giving to others, and stress the importance of giving to others with the kids. Have a giving devotional....

Take a peek at Visionary Families . There are some previews of this study there. This is a practical, hands on look at parenting form a way God has designed. A good review for mature Christians - and very well could be a life changing study for new parents or new Christian parents or Grandparents.


Study can be done with book or DVD's. Both offer the same material - the book and DVD's can be used together. There are a couple of nuggets of info offered in the DVD that are not offered in the book.
Chris has the DVD's if interested. Books may need to be purchased individually (end of chapters are in workbook format).

Love and Respect Marriage Study

We recently completed the "Love and Respect" marriage study from Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. Love and Respect Ministries


We did the book study with the DVD study. Great foundational marriage class for both young and older married couples. Helps you view spousal interactions, yourself, your spouse, and your marriage from a different perspective - the way God designed it to be. The DVD gives a good comparison between the modern cultural perspective of why men and women think a particular way in relation to marital issues and the way God intended these relationships to function.

If the DVDs are used, suggest you get the books designed for the DVDs/ small groups. The main "Love and Respect" book is great study, but not divided up the same way the DVDs are. However, it is doable. We did the various chapters in the book and then watched the DVD lesson that covered the topic(s) as a review of what we studied.

Southside does not have this in their library yet, but would highly recommend it!
