Bible Bowl Battle Between Groups

Bible Bowl battle between groups.

For a time of good Christian competitive fun, have different groups meet together for a time of fellowship and a little fun competition. Coordinate times and subject(s) among your leaders!

Family Worship Time & Devotionals

Take a gander at: Family Time devotionals for all ages of kids. Family Time Training is a great resource for establishing times of family worship in your home and even for a study in your LifeGroup!

Our group is taking turns teaching a lesson from some of their activity books. Each lesson is well laid out with the incorporation of Scripture, an object lesson, interactive activity, etc. I would highly recommend this resource for the church.

See Chris or Martha for more info.

Song of Solomon Study

5 out of 5
Chris has videos (VHS), but would recommend purchase of newer version.

We have done this study everywhere we have lived and it has left a lasting impression on us and those that participate in the study. Great for married young and old. The study watches this godly couple in Song of Solomon go through attraction, dating, courtship, conflict, and commitment. This study can be good for singles too in what to look for in a godly spouse - however, it can get a little steamy in parts. Song of Solomon is a must for those engaged to be married! Tommy Nelson does a great job in teaching/understanding this book and depicting the culture/times that this book was written in.

It comes with a study guide which would be a must for a leader. There is also a book that covers much of the same material called, "The Book of Romance." However, I would highly recommend studying with the video series, it makes this tend-to-be subject much more palatable.

Leaders you can also listen to an almost entire version on podcast, but personally, I think the videos are still better.

The Truth for Today Commentary Series

The Truth for Today commentary series is the Church of Christ's first multi-author collection of commentaries being written the the intention of covering the entire Bible.  This series is in progress by many commentaries are already available.  Most volumes cover their particular book of the Bible, sometimes a couple of smaller book at a time, using the New American Standard Bible.  I have studied through several of these and always found them full of textually based, top-notch exegesis and sound research.  At the end of each Bible chapter that is covered are sections that address topical considerations found in the text and some suggestions for group discussions or sermons.  Many of the volumes have associated study guide pdfs which are freely available on their website: Resource Publications.  I have used the 2 volumes of a chronological study of the Life of Christ, 2 volumes of the book of Acts, and the volume on Ezekiel to develop both Sunday morning classes as well as discussion oriented smaller groups.  I highly recommend each of those as well as the 2 volume set on Revelation which does an outstanding job of putting the text in context and not going to so many of the extreme interpretations we see today causing so much angst and worry.  The following volumes would be available if anyone would like to borrow them.

Exodus
Ezekiel
vol 1 & 2 of the Life of Christ
vol 1 & 2 of Acts
Colossians & Philemon
vol 1 & 2 of Revelation

I am currently studying through volumes 1 & 2 of Matthew.  Those may be available as well if I complete my study.

God Heard Their Cry

5 out of 5
Church has this resource
Would recommend all of this series for church

This is an excellent study with a truly unique look into the Bible, culture of the Hebrews and Egyptians. This is a great look at God's grand story for the Hebrew nation. Awesome parallels to us today. The workbook that goes with it is very good - very in depth, but very good. One nice thing about this study, is that you can make it a very "meaty" study or just a beginners overview of the Exodus story. Highly recommend this with the next series, "Fire on the Mountain."

Much of the previews, even some of the videos are on youtube. God Heard Their Cry
