The Truth for Today commentary series is the Church of Christ's first multi-author collection of commentaries being written the the intention of covering the entire Bible. This series is in progress by many commentaries are already available. Most volumes cover their particular book of the Bible, sometimes a couple of smaller book at a time, using the New American Standard Bible. I have studied through several of these and always found them full of textually based, top-notch exegesis and sound research. At the end of each Bible chapter that is covered are sections that address topical considerations found in the text and some suggestions for group discussions or sermons. Many of the volumes have associated study guide pdfs which are freely available on their website: Resource Publications. I have used the 2 volumes of a chronological study of the Life of Christ, 2 volumes of the book of Acts, and the volume on Ezekiel to develop both Sunday morning classes as well as discussion oriented smaller groups. I highly recommend each of those as well as the 2 volume set on Revelation which does an outstanding job of putting the text in context and not going to so many of the extreme interpretations we see today causing so much angst and worry.
